This is a list of my book-length publications (including editorships, as well as my diploma and my Ph.D. thesis). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add to this the different issues of Flusser Studies<\/a><\/em> that I have been editing from 2005 to 2026: Eleven issues as an editor (Flusser Studies 9, 12, 14, 17 (part two), 20, 22, 33 (part two), 35, 37, 39 and 40) and fifteen issues as a co-editor (Flusser Studies 6 (with Janine Marchessault), 11 (with Dirk Michael Hennrich), 15 (with Gabriela Reinaldo), 19 (with Vito Campanelli), 23 and 26\u00a0(with Eva Batli\u010dkov\u00e1), 24 (with Steffi Winkler), Studies 29 and 32 (with Nancy Roth), 31 (with Marc Lenot), 36 (with William A. Hanff and Rodrigo Martini), and 1, 2, 4 and 10 (with Anke Finger).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have published books in three different languages: German, English and Portuguese. The main subjects are: Vil\u00e9m Flusser (2020a, 2019, 2017a\/b, 2011, 2010b, 2009a, 2008, 2005, 2004), Clouds and Winds (2023, 2009b and 2006), Translation and Multilingualism (2020b and 2016), as well as Body and Landscape (2014 and 2000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The underlying theme that drives and at the same time unites most of my writing is the notion of metaphor. It is at the center of my publications from the metaphor of the body politic (K\u00f6rpermetaphern: Zum Verh\u00e4ltnis von Politik und Medizin<\/em> 2000) to the metaphor of the national political landscape (Politische Landschaften: Zum Verh\u00e4ltnis von Territorium und Identit\u00e4t<\/em> 2014), the metaphor of translation (Translation as Metaphor<\/em> 2016), and the metaphors of multilingualism (Metaphors of Multilingualism. Changing Attitudes towards Language Diversity in Literature, Linguistics and Philosophy<\/em> 2023). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metaphor also plays a fundamental role in my research on the work of Vil\u00e9m Flusser<\/a> whose thinking has been described as a form of metaphorical phantasy. Michel Serres<\/a> posits a direct relationship between meteorological phenomena (wind, clouds, rain, snow) and metaphors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
